DAY 01 – Welcome to Baku: Panoramic Tour
Arrive at Baku International Airport and transfer to your hotel. After checking in, you will have free time to relax. Later, assemble in the hotel lobby to start your tour. Visit Highland Park and the Alley of Martyrs, followed by a visit to the National Assembly. Enjoy a walk along Baku Boulevard, which stretches along a south-facing bay on the Caspian Sea. The boulevard traditionally starts at Freedom Square, extending westward to the Old City and beyond. Since 2012, the Yeni Bulvar (New Boulevard) has nearly doubled the length of the promenade to 3.75 km. Afterward, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, begin your tour at Ateshgah (Fire Worshippers’ Temple), a historic temple used by Hindu and Zoroastrian worshippers. The word “Atash” means “fire” in Persian. The temple complex, with its pentagonal design, was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. Next, visit Yanardag (Fire Mountain), located 25 km north of Baku on the Absheron Peninsula. Yanardag is a naturally occurring gas fire that burns continuously on the hillside, giving Azerbaijan its title of the “Land of Fire.”
Afterward, explore the Bibi-Heybat Mosque, a modern recreation of a 13th-century mosque that was destroyed by the Bolsheviks in 1936. The mosque houses the tomb of Ukeyma Khanum, a descendant of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.
Later in the day, visit Gobustan National Park, known for its cave paintings that date back 40,000 years. The park features over 6,000 rock engravings, depicting the history of human civilization from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. The Gobustan Reserve covers an area of 537 hectares. Return to Baku or drop off at the hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, transfer to Gabala for a day of exploration. Visit the Tufandaq Winter-Summer Tourism Complex, where you can enjoy cable car rides, skiing (depending on the season), and other recreational activities such as kids’ entertainment centers and cafes. Then, visit Nohur Lake, located in the picturesque region of Gabala. The lake is tucked away amidst beautiful mountains, offering a serene atmosphere. Return to Baku for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin your tour with a visit to Old City (Inner City), the historic heart of Baku. The Old City, with its ancient walls, is the oldest part of Baku and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. Key landmarks include the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the Maiden Tower.
Later, explore Nizami Street, known for its vibrant shopping scene. The street dates back to Baku’s town planning in 1864 and stretches through the downtown area, from Abdulla Shaig Street to Sabit Orujov Street.
End the tour with a visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center, a modern architectural marvel designed by Zaha Hadid. The center is famous for its flowing, curved design and houses exhibitions and events. (Photoshoot outside the building). Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, embark on a shopping tour, starting with Genclik Mall, located just 10 minutes from the city center. Genclik Mall is the largest shopping center in Baku, featuring over 80 stores, a bowling alley, movie theaters, a 3D cinema, a children’s playground, and a wide variety of restaurants and food courts.
Continue to Deniz Mall, a large entertainment and dining complex built on reclaimed land from the Caspian Sea. The mall spans five floors and features well-known brands like Starbucks, Nike, Swarovski, Pandora, and more. After the shopping tour, transfer to the airport for your departure.
